Our Story

Crosby and I met in 1999 in Fort Myers. We were introduced by his brother, his sister, my parents, I guess it was fate because so many things lined up right for us to be together. We were engaged in 2000 and married in February of 2001. After a few years we both really wanted to start a family. We were so anxious to see what God had planned for us as parents. We were not able to get pregnant and after several attempts with fertility treatments, we decided to open our hearts and home to children who need families. Our first foster daughter, DeAnna was with us for only a few months but she changed our lives forever! She was able to return home with her family, but will always have a special place in our hearts. In February of 2005 we received a phone call from our caseworker asking us to consider placement of a four month old baby boy named Jhe'Mari. Our hearts and minds starting racing as we considered the possibility of having a baby in our home. We met Jhe'Mari two days later in the foster home where he was placed and let me just say it was love at first sight! What a cutie pie!!! We couldn't resist him and couldn't wait for him to come home.

As foster parents, we were trained to be careful not to jump to any conclusions that Jhe'Mari would need a forever family. We were being called to take him as our own for now and to hope and pray that whatever would be best for him would happen. Easier said than done!! After the first few days we were convinced that he couldn't go anywhere, we love him so much!

Two years later after experiencing all the firsts, sleepless nights, all the joys, we were told that Jhe'Mari would be free for adoption. We quickly completed the process and on June 25, 2007 he officially became our son. This was without doubt one of the happiest days of our lives! We have always called Jhe'Mari "Jay" for short so with his adoption came an official name change to
Jay Rollins (his former last name) Boudreaux.

Jay is almost four now and we're so grateful to have him as part of our family. We love watching him grow and change and learn new things!

We are so content with our family, but we are keeping an open mind and heart in hope that God will provide another child for us to love.
